Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Merry Christmas to everyone! I traveled to Minden, Nevada this past Wednesday to deliver the “Steampunk” Whisper Blouse and “Skinny” vest samples and oodles of patterns to Beth Watts of Fabric Chicks. They fit her perfectly and she hopes to need more by the end of January!! Yeah.

Even though these pictures are taken from inside the car, I think they are beautiful. Above, we are coming round the north shore to Incline Village. The ski runs of Mount Rose can be seen way in the distance. Below are two shots coming into Carson City, Nevada. Lake level is 6300. The pass to go up and over into NV is 7210ft. The elevation of Carson City is 4800ft. So, the flat area you see is the Carson Valley also at 4800ft. Oh yes,  Heidi has to give a geography lesson too. And weather thrown in as well. Was it ever COLD!!!!! 2 degrees the low for Lake level and 18 for Carson City. DSC_1805 DSC_1806

And then, the weekend before I went to Minden, we traveled to 144ft in elevation to the Central Valley of CA. Our niece is the product developer at Skylake Ranch in the Chico  area. Sarah decorated her mother-in-laws whole house in a winter white theme (except the Christmas tree) for a “Winter White” Christmas party. BEST recipe EVER for eggnog. Was it the three different liquors in it? Hmm… 20151213_154331

I love how she put the lights under the “snow.”

Sarah’s cookie tree featured hand made, edible cookies. Fortunately there was a plate of the same cookies available to eat. I wasn’t about to mess with that pretty tree.

This tree almost reaches two stories tall. And so many of the ornaments are beautifully counted cross stitched by Sarah’s mother-in-laws mother. Sarah13

Guests were invited to sit and eat at the dining table. This group of lovely ladies were  dressed up in their winter whites.Sarah's party2 20151213_153227

I can’t get enough of the hand made cookie ornaments. 20151213_154331

When it got dark, we were treated to a fireworks show at their lake. And then we picked Meyer Lemons off one of the lemon trees. We filled a grocery bag full of them, and you could NOT tell that we had picked any off the tree. On the drive home a beautiful, and very large owl flew by the car window and in the starry host above, my husband and I saw two shooting stars. It was a magical time. 20151213_154353

I am taking two weeks off in honor of this Blessed Christmas season and to ring in the New Year!  Hugs to you all and thanks for being faithful readers of my blog. Heidi
